Job description
Quality Assurance Specialist/Plant Operator will be responsible for Western Harvest Bean’s food safety and food quality programs. This person will also assist in a dry bean processing plant helping to receive, process, package or ship dry beans.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversees company’s food safety and food quality program. .
- Develops and implements inspection criteria and procedures for products throughout processing cycle. Manages inspections and testing, reviewing results for Safe Quality Food standards compliance.
- Works with management to improve product processing, using the tools of process improvement and statistical process control.
- Remains current on all regulatory changes and requirements.
- Oversees process for successful renewal of quality certifications; ensures programs and practices meet all required certification criteria. .
- Works closely with management team and operations staff, addressing and resolving company quality issues and customer complaints.
- Manages all company food safety and food quality training programs and communications ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- In accordance with established procedures and acceptable standards, receives, stores, bags, and ships bean product. Loads trucks and train cars.
- May assist with shipping paperwork.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of work area and plant.
Education and Experience: High School with a minimum 2 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience; experience working in Agriculture or Food industries; HACCP Certification and experience working with SQF or HACCP standards helpful; valid driver’s license required.
